Travelling to Hong Kong and Macau in the middle of fasting month and summer season. Ouch!
Bandung-Medan-Hongkong-Macau-Hongkong-Medan-Bandung, 8 days in total.
First of all, they dont speak english, even when you can find one, the pronounciation only make it worse. Believe me, you're just gonna ended up like, "Im sorry, what?" , "I beg you pardon?" or "HUH???" and then.. Ok.ok. Im good. Thanks. *frowned* So when you get lost do not expect that you can ask the locals, just count on your maps and GPS.
Hong Kong is ranked at number three for the world top 10 most expensive cities, after Tokyo and Angola. We were staying at Chung King Mansion, Park Guesthouse, a cheap guesthouse for backpacker. Waited for long que to go back to our room after mid-night with the slow elevators. The rooms were a bit small but i think that is generally the case in Hong Kong, now i do know why people call it 'a bird cage'. Thank God the staff at our guesthouse is a friendly Philippine and she speak english very well.
Shopping centre is everywhere around the city. And ohforgodsake, its totally cheap. Im a big fan of Dr. Martens, you can find its like half price from Dr. Martens counter at Grand Indonesia. But of course, buy a pair of Martens is not on my budget. I was just this close |--| to use my credit card and bring that Martens home. Huhuhu.. :(
What i love so much about Hong Kong is their public transportation. Its totally organized, they have this Octupus Card, that valid for 8 types of different transportation. Even if Hong Kong is small place with lots of people around the world, business place is like everywhere, but still there's not much traffic in town. "So where is the Disneyland?", "Oh its quite far away from here, its in Lantau Island. About 50km from here.". Ok, took MRT to Lantau Island then BUMP, we got there for like 20 minutes? Hoho. Fast fast fast!
and then.. here we go to MACAU!
We only took a one day trip to Macau. It cost around IDR 300.000,- (return ferry ticket) The ferry its very much different with the ferry in Indonesia hehe.. Its so comfortable and super fast!
It only took about 1 hour to reach Macau.
Macau is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China. It lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province to the north and facing the South China Sea to the east and south. Macau was a Portuguese colony and both the first and last European colony in China, thats why we could find a lots of beautiful old colony Europian building. Very interesting architecture.
and me, doing some silly pose.
PS : I didnt put watermark on my photos, but dear that doesn't mean you can repost it without my permission. If you want to use one of my photo, just give me some credit, will ya?
